Every year, pupils enjoy taking part in a fund raising project organised by the FLS in which they design their own Christmas card which are then professionally printed for their families to enjoy and use. This year, all of the children’s designs were entered into a new school competition and Mrs Stanton-Tonner and Mrs Cowie had the tricky task of selecting a winning design from each class. They were delighted with the high standard of work and creative ideas!
“The standard of Art at Lyonsdown is consistently exceptional,” says Head, Mrs Stanton-Tonner. “The Christmas card competition is a wonderful opportunity to showcase our pupils’ talents, which are expertly developed over the years by our specialist Art teacher, Mrs Cowie.”
Well done to Arya & Morayo for their super festive designs which were chosen as official Lyonsdown Christmas cards. Also, congratulations to Elsie in Year 3 who created a beautiful painting of an arctic hare, which was also chosen to be printed as a Lyonsdown card design.
There was a winner in each year group too, so congratulations go to the following pupils who all win a prize for their excellent artwork: Livinia (Pre-Reception), Arya (Reception), Julietta (1H), Gabriella (1Y), Emily (2T), Nikki (2S), Elsie (Yr 3), Lisa (Yr 3), Amelia (Yr 4), Safiya (Yr 5), Morayo (Yr 6).
