We are absolutely delighted that Shrina in Year 5 has won a Christmas card competition organised by our local MP, Theresa Villiers.
The competition invited all local schools across Chipping Barnet to take part. Our Year 5 and 6 girls were challenged by our Art, Design and Technology coordinator, Mrs Cowie, to submit an entry as part of their Art homework. The girls were all briefed to think about who they were designing the card for, where they live and who the recipients would be.
“We are incredibly proud of the standard of our girls’ Art,” says Head, Mrs Stanton Tonner. “There was an amazingly high standard of work received in this popular competition, which makes it even more special and impressive that our girls did so well – with Shrina winning and four girls receiving a highly commended award.”
The girls who achieved a ‘highly commended entry’ were Aliki and Anaya in Year 6, along with Hannah and Delilah in Year 5.
This competition was in addition to the School’s annual Christmas card competition, so there has been a lot of festive artistic fun this term!
