1H
1H have been very busy over the last couple of weeks and the children have settled in well to remote learning.
This week we have read the book ‘The Queen’s Knickers’ by Nicholas Allan and thought it was very funny that the Queen’s knickers could turn into a parachute or a boat! The children then designed a pair of special knickers for the Queen. They had some great ideas. This included safari, dinosaur, party, happy, space, football knickers and lots more.
The children have learned about everyday materials in Science and enjoyed going on a material hunt around the house. This topic supported their learning in Design Technology too, whereby the children drew a plan of a castle and listed the materials needed to make it. We can’t wait to build them! In Drama, they acted out the story of Edwina the Emu and had great fun pretending to do all the jobs that she did – including being a ballet dancer and chimney sweep!
1Y
1Y have settled in well to their Remote Education. This week in RE, the children have been looking at the features of a church. The challenge was to make a model of the inside of a church and take a toy on a guided tour. Here are two excellent examples.
Read Write Inc continues to be interactive, via our live lessons through Teams. Here, we are playing “fastest finger”, finding answers in the text to questions asked by Mrs Young. In Drama, they acted out the story of Edwina the Emu and had great fun pretending to do all the jobs that she did – including being a ballet dancer and chimney sweep!
