I was extremely proud that 7 art pieces created by Lyonsdown pupils went through to the Finals of the Independent Association National Art Competition, which was held online this year. There was a virtual gallery for the Finals showcasing the finalists from each of the regional art competitions and all the 1st Place winning work can be viewed here .
Considering that we have all had to change and adapt during these unprecedented times, our pupils’ creativity has never stopped. In total, there were over 1,500 entries to the competition – and the standard of the artwork this year from pupils ranging from EYFS to Key Stage 5 was incredible.
I am delighted to announce the following prizes were awarded to our talented pupils and all will receive a special brochure showing their work, as well as a certificate.
Emmeline – Year 2 : WINNER KS1 Sketchbook Category for London Sketchbook
Elsie – Year 3 : WINNER KS2 Individual Textiles for ‘Picasso Face’
Riya, Charvi, Ameline– Year 2 : WINNER Group 3D Art KS1 for ‘Owl Friends’
Year 5 won 2nd Place in the KS2 Fashion Category for their Cherry Blossom Kimono
Year 5’s collage of Frida Kahlo was Highly Commended in the KS2 Group 2D work category
Congratulations also to Sumayyah for her super London Skyline drawing and Year 1 and 2 for their Group work collage of London.
Well done to all of you!
