We are delighted to begin the New Year with the exciting news that Mrs Rittu Hall has been appointed as Lyonsdown School’s new Head. Mrs Hall, who has held the position of Acting Co-Head (Academic) since last September, now begins the Spring term as Lyonsdown’s permanent Head.
Mrs Hall has an array of knowledge and expertise from her 12 years of teaching experience and has been an integral part of the Lyonsdown community since joining the school in 2018. She has a degree in Sociology from the University of London and gained her Post Graduate Diploma in Law, followed by the Legal Practice Course, before moving into a teaching career through her PGCE from Goldsmiths College. Having grown up in the local area, she attended City of London School for Girls and is a huge advocate of the benefits of an all-girls education, with her two daughters also now attending independent all-girls schools.
“Over the last term, Mrs Hall has shown herself to be a strong leader who is committed to Lyonsdown’s success and to our collective goal of achieving excellence in all areas,” says Chair of the Board, Andrea Morley. “She offers us the unique combination of being a transformational leader who already knows and understands our school community. Mrs Hall is dedicated to striving for excellence in Lyonsdown’s aim of inspiring and enabling girls to love learning, to achieve personal success and to be well-equipped with the values, attitudes and skills that lay the foundations for a happy and fulfilling life.”
Mrs Hall is delighted to have been chosen to lead the School saying, “I am excited to take the helm at Lyonsdown. Having been a member of the team here for four years I know what a wonderful school this is and I am passionate about an all-girls education. I am looking forward to continuing to enrich all aspects of the curriculum and overall experience here at Lyonsdown to ensure that our girls can thrive during their formative early education, as well as when they go on to join some of London’s top selective independent and maintained schools.”
The School community is elated that the New Year has started with the excellent news of Mrs Hall’s promotion to Head, and is looking forward to an exciting 2022 for Lyonsdown.
