It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas here at Lyonsdown. Our festive nativity performances for the Lower School took place in the School Hall last week; we were treated to the ‘The Big Little Nativity’ by Year 1 and Year 2 and the ‘Boogie Woogie Nativity’ performance by Pre-Reception and Reception. For those of you that were lucky enough to join us, you will know how brilliantly the Lower School girls did! They made us burst with pride as they performed every moment of the shows with talent, energy, confidence, commitment, enthusiasm and passion. Well done to all our Lyonsdown girls for such fabulous performances. But such success would not be possible without the help of others in the Lyonsdown community; pupils, parents and teachers (and all they do behind the scenes).
But the nativity is not the only example of collaborative work this week: thank you to the FLS team for their hard work with Santas Grotto and for helping with the personalised Christmas items. (The elves really pulled it out the bag this year!) All the children were filled with excitement and adrenalin as they entered the magical Grotto in their Year groups to meet with Santa and tell him what was on their Christmas list and what they would be doing over the festive break.
Our fantastic catering team served the girls a delicious Christmas lunch, and by the look on their faces and the pile of clean plates, we could tell they thoroughly enjoyed it.
Christmas wouldn’t be Christmas without a classic holiday movie, so Mrs Hall set up the School Hall for a special showing of her favourite festive film ‘Nativity’. What a treat!
It is hard work and collaboration that sees a school through the final week of the Autumn Term. Our teachers here at Lyonsdown enjoy the responsibility of creating memorable moments and memories for our girls. However, we could only make these memories with the children’s cooperation. We hope your children are all enjoying the happy Christmas spirit currently running through Lyonsdown and that it fills them with memories that will last a lifetime!
So with that in mind, it’s full steam ahead for the final week of the Autumn term.
